Posted by Blog Master in Apache Eagle, Arizona, Customer Spotlight

Thanks for checking out our customer spotlight for August 2024!
We're featuring a Trailer Blocks kit installation on a rare 1968 Apache Eagle tent trailer owned by Jim in Arizona!
1968 Apache Eagle tent trailer - factory suspension.
The goal was a 1" lift to properly accommodate larger 12" wheels which were an upgrade over the 8" factory size.

Notice the stock use of a single diagonal U-bolt and bent tie-plate in the original 1968 factory suspension design.

The Trailer Blocks Kit for 1200lb to 1800lb square axle with anodized blocks and heavy-duty tie-plates was selected. The leaf springs were also restored to as close to original specifications as possible when reconditioned. Note that the Trailer Blocks kit has a total of 4 U-bolts per axle.

Thanks for sending in your installation photos Jim! The peace of mind afforded in updating and restoring 1968 equipment is surely welcome. We hope your trailer ride quality has improved with the addition of the larger wheels.
As a reminder: we are always looking for interesting trailers to feature so if you are planning to install a Trailer Blocks product sometime soon, please snap an image or two and send it in. If your trailer is featured on our blog we will send you a discount for use with future orders.

Customer Spotlight: July 2022

Welcome everyone! Today we're looking at Adam's rig from Ontario.

His 1994 Canadian made tandem axle dump trailer had been a reliable workhorse for many years. After inspection Adam determined repair and refurbishment was long overdue.

Primary goals for the project were to fix a broken spring perch on the frame and to fix loose U-bolts. Secondary goals were to correct metal rust and to increase the ride height with use of anodized Trailer Blocks 1.5" lift kit.

After unbolting the rims, shackles and equalizer; the leaf spring axle assembly was free. Disconnecting trailer brake wires allowed for the assembly to be extracted out from under the trailer and set aside for refurbishment. This also provided him with easy access under the trailer to weld repair the frame spring perch and fenders.

Dump bed slightly raised for access the rusty parts on the trailer and axles were treated with rust inhibitor and then painted with a fresh coat of black paint. Electrical wiring on the trailer along with lighting was also upgraded.

New leaf springs were installed along with replacement shackles, equalizers and bolts. During reassembly the anodized 1.5" Trailer Blocks kit with extra long grade 8 U-bolts and super heavy duty tie-plates was installed.

Finishing steps included a light coat of paint on all assembled suspension components to help protect against rusting during the Canadian winter. Rims and tires were cleaned and checked prior to reinstallation and setting of desired air pressure. Axle bearings were repacked with fresh grease and the oil on the power dump hydraulic ram was changed.

Now we see Adam's dump trailer in much better condition riding slightly higher and towing perfectly level! The installation of the Trailer Blocks kit allowed for better dump action and tire to fender clearance.

Great job Adam  -  We'd like to thank you for purchasing our special kit and for sending in the great photos!

Customer Spotlight: February 2021

Welcome back to the blog!

We have another Customer Spotlight for you today, as we take a look at Clay from Colorado and his 2000lb axle setup with our lift/lowering kit!

Clay had mounted 14 inch wheels and removed the 13 inch wheels from his Echo EE-9-13. While hauling 2 Polaris ATVs he had very little clearance and some rub under the fender on hard dips or bumps.

Clay used the Kit for a 2000lb round axle with a 1-1/2" Lift/Lowering Block for a 1-3/4" wide spring to get the clearance he needed for his ST205/75D14 wheels.

Looking good Clay! Solid setup!
